Pay Range: $28.00/hour + 10% shift differential for nights and weekend shifts
Schedule
Full-time
Primary Shift: Sunday – Thursday, 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM
Weekend Shift Option: Friday, Saturday, Sunday, 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM (work 36 hours, paid for 40)
Summary
The Boiler Operator position is responsible for the daily operations of a high-pressure steam boiler, including startups and shutdowns, monitoring operations, and performing inspections and maintenance as needed.
Key Job Duties
Perform daily operations of the boiler, including startups and shutdowns
Monitor boiler operations, document readings, and complete data reports
Conduct routine inspections to ensure safe and efficient operation
Pull water samples, test water, and adjust chemical quantities for the water softener system
Identify and troubleshoot issues with boilers and supporting equipment
Perform maintenance on boiler systems as needed
Follow all general manufacturing practices (GMP) and adhere to company, regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements
Maintain clear communication (oral and written) within the maintenance and boiler team to ensure smooth shift transitions
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
2B Boiler License or higher required
High School Diploma or GED preferred
Ability to read, speak, and understand written and verbal instructions
Self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Basic computer skills
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and use independent judgment
Ability to pass a background check and physical/drug screening
Experience in a food-grade facility preferred (dry goods and high-speed packaging)
Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and percentages
Ability to interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule-based instructions
Knowledge and Skills
Basic math proficiency including weight calculations, averages, and percentages
Ability to read and write in English
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; working knowledge of PowerPoint (Access a plus)
Work Environment / Physical Demands
Ability to sit, stand, and bend
Ability to lift at least 50 lbs
